Tottenham took the lead early in the second half
after referee Mark Clattenburg
awarded a penalty; he adjudged that Danny
Rose' cross was handled in the area by Raheem
Sterling. The Manchester City winger felt hard done by as he appeared to
turn his back on the ball as he jumped, but Kane was not too worried and just
wanted to focus on beating England team-mate Joe Hart.
Kane said “We know what we're capable of we're still in
three competitions and there's still a long way to go but we're confident and
getting three points here has made us even more confident. We fancy our chances
against anyone in the league, and we're buzzing but there's still so long left
we just have to keep focused and keep doing the right things”
About the penalty Kane
said “Danny put a ball in and I've
seen it's hit his hand, I couldn't really see a great deal but of course you're
going to appeal. I'm delighted to put it away. We take a few pens when
we're away with England hit's a bit of mind-games but I knew where I was going
to put and thankfully it went it. It's a very big game away from home. City are
a top team and everyone is fighting for places and to come away with victory is
great. We can't get carried away but it's a great win”
