Shooting Stars Need To Maintain Intensity- Kadiri Ikhana

Shooting Stars head coach Kadiri Ikhana says he wants the same level of intensity in every match after his side edged 10-man Rivers United 1-0 at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Saturday. A 44th minute goal from Wasiu Jimoh made the difference in the match after a foul by Ofem Inah which resulted into the penalty-kick that was awarded to the Oluyole Warriors.

He said “I spoke with the players before this game, telling them that we must always try and play in the same way as we did against MFM FC here in Ibadan. We can change names, but for me, it was important to see the same team we saw in the thumping of the Church Boys, the same philosophy, the same intensity and of course scoring goals is important. I want to commend my boys for earning three points against a determined Rivers United side who looked strong despite the red card. It was important for Wasiu Jimoh to score and play well, he is an important member of our team”.

Shooting Stars' next game is away against Niger Tornadoes at the Confluence Stadium on Wednesday.
