Jamie Vardy Will Not Contest FA Charge Of Improper Conduct

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy will not contest an FA charge of improper conduct handed to him following his sending off during Leicester's 2-2 draw with West Ham on Sunday.  Vardy was shown a second yellow card for simulation after going to ground under pressure from Angelo Ogbonna on 56 minutes, prompting a furious reaction from the England striker towards referee John Moss.


The 29years old, who was booked early in the game for a lunging tackle on Cheikhou Kouyate, has requested a personal hearing which is likely to be heard on Monday. He is already suspended for the home game with Swansea on Super Sunday, when Leicester will bid to extend their five-point lead over second-placed Tottenham, but could face further suspension with a trip to Manchester United to come next weekend.


The FA also charged Leicester for failing to control their players following the award of the Hammers' 
83rd-minute penalty. The club have accepted that charge too, and said in a statement: “Leicester City Football Club has accepted a Football Association charge of failing to control its players during the Barclays Premier League fixture against West Ham United on 17 April. Furthermore, Jamie Vardy has accepted a charge of improper conduct arising from the same fixture. Jamie has, however, requested a personal hearing”.
