Scream Queens Season 2 Adds John Stamos

Fox’s fall slate is turning into quite a trove of goodies for genre fans, with a host of new series and returning staples receiving official premiere dates. One of which is Ryan Murphy’s deliciously dark comedy horror Scream Queens. Aside from that all-important season 2 debut date, it’s also landed itself a former TV star in Fuller House‘s John Stamos. The actor whose recent show Grandfathered got the chop after one season, will clamber aboard Murphy’s wild and debauched show about a masked serial killer stalking college kids.

The last time we saw the remaining Kappa Kappa Tau sisters, led by Emma Roberts’ scenery-chewing Chanel Oberlin, they were carted off to a psychiatric hospital. If you caught their own attempt at self-representation in court, that predicament comes as no surprise. That sets things up nicely for season 2, which takes place entirely in that medical setting “where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.”

Described by Deadline as “the hospital’s brilliant, but secretive, head surgeon.” Secretive is always a plus in the world of Scream Queens, where everyone’s got something to hide for fear of getting mauled in a very gruesome manner.

Keeping Stamos company in the sophomore season are returning stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash, who all reprise their roles from season 1. Season 2 premieres on September 20.
