Marking Vikander’s first foray into the world of producing the festival-friendly picture marks a reunion with Langseth, who previously directed the so-hot-right-now Swede across both Hotel and Pure. Euphoria, on the other hand, is acting as the filmmaker’s English-language debut, setting Vikander and Penny Dreadful star Eva Green as two sisters who cross paths after many years spent apart. Langseth’s feature then explores the profound journey they undertake as they set about strengthening a sisterly bond that has, for one reason or another, fallen by the wayside. It’s a relatively straightforward premise on paper, but enlisting Vikander and is enough to pique our curiosity.
Rounding out the casting sheet are Charles Dance, Adrian Lester, and Mark Stanley. Production on Euphoria is already underway in Bavaria with plans in place to lens in Munich before the year’s end. Look for Langseth’s family pic to descend on the festival circuit in early 2017.
