Mata To Stay At Manchester United

Juan Mata is likely to remain at Manchester United beyond the current transfer window. Mata was substituted in Sunday's Community Shield win over Leicester City just 27 minutes after coming on, fuelling speculation that his days were numbered at Old Trafford.

However, it is understood the Spain midfielder, who was sold to United for £37.1m by Jose Mourinho when he was at Chelsea, could still have a role to play under the Portuguese manager. However, fellow midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger appears to have already played his last game for the club. It is understood that there has been significant interest from home and abroad in the German and his wages are not expected to be a stumbling block.

Meanwhile, Adnan Januzaj look set to go out on loan again as it appears Mourinho believes the 21years old, who still has two years remaining on his contract, would benefit from a season playing first team football elsewhere. The Belgium winger played only seven games in all competitions for United last season and spent four months on loan at Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund
