Mavin singer Korede Bello has revealed, in an interview with TheNETng, that he would sign a renewal if his contract expires with Mavin records
‘Of course I will renew, Mavin is like a family
to me,’ he confidently said.
Korede Bello, alongside Reekado Banks and Di’Ja, signed three-year deals with
Mavin in February 2014 but is yet to release an album with the contract nearing
its end. The ‘Godwin’ singer however maintains he will still release his album
under the label.
‘If you’re going by that, it’s not just a year
deal, it’s album deals. That’s to tell you that what we’re operating on is not
just what people think it is. That I haven’t released an album in three years
doesn’t mean that I’ll leave,’ he said.
‘I’m definitely still under Mavin Records. A lot
of songs on my album will be produced by Don Jazzy, Altims, Baby Fresh. So it’s
a Mavin Records’ project.’
He
however declined to give a date for the release of the yet-to-be-titled
project.
The singer also revealed how hectic it has been for him mixing school with music, In his words, ‘Yeah
I’m back to school, about to finish my final year, HND in Nigerian Institute of
Journalism, same school I did my OND. I’m in my finals,’ he said.
‘It’s
been freaking hectic for me ‘cos I’ve been working on my album. It’s like I’m
working on my school album,’ he joked.
Speaking
on his final year project, Korede said, ‘My project will be
entertainment related. About something that has to with artistes and their
influence on fans because I have easy access to musicians and celebrities. It’s
going to be hard for me.’
