Sterling
K. Brown has landed the role
of N’Jobu in Marvel’s Black Panther solo movie.
Described as a mysterious figure
from T’Challa’s past, little is known about N’Jobu’s history with Chadwick Boseman’s titular lead, but
with production due to commence imminently, it
shouldn’t be too long before we learn the ins and outs of Brown’s newcomer.
What we do know for sure is that the actor,
who received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Christopher Darden
in The People V. O.J. Simpson,
rounds out Black Panther‘s formidable cast, one which also
boasts Michael B. Jordan, Forest
Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira,
Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and
Florence Kasumba.
Following its introduction in Avengers: Age of Ultron Wakanda
will act as the focal point of Marvel’s Black Panther origins story, the fictional
African nation in which Boseman’s T’Challa will look to establish his
reign.
Headed up by Ryan
Coogler who directs from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole Black Panther is expected to claw its way into
theaters on February 16, 2018, and will act as the final standalone movie
before the advent of Joe and Anthony Russo’s titanic Avengers: Infinity War.
