Ikechukwu Ezenwa has spared a thought for the
Burkina Faso national team following the inability of some of their players to
procure travelling visas to London for the proposed international
friendly on Monday.
Seven
players of the Etalions could not secure entry visas into the United Kingdom
for the game at The Hive, venue of Nigeria's earlier friendly game against
Senegal which ended 1-1 on Thursday night.
He said “We do understand the situation of things and
why Burkina Faso had to withdraw from the friendly. We wanted to play this
game. They apparently wanted to play this match too and did everything within
their power to get to London. But unfortunately they couldn't, that is life for
you. It’s not about me not playing now or getting the chance on
Monday if you like. We are a team, I'm not particular about me not
playing. Who knows, we could still play them in future. I really hope we do.”
