West Ham United have announced that
they have entered into an agreement with Bayer
Leverkusen for the transfer of former Manchester
United striker Javier 'Chicharito'
Hernandez. West Ham made the announcement on their website on
Thursday.
A
statement on the Hammers website reads “West
Ham United and Bayer Leverkusen have agreed terms for the transfer of Javier
Hernandez to London Stadium, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker will fly to London
in the coming days to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical with the
Hammers. Hernandez, 29, affectionately known as ‘Chicharito’ across the globe,
became Mexico’s all-time leading goalscorer in May this year.”
While
at Manchester United, Hernandez scored 59 goals during a four-year spell at Old
Trafford. In 2014, he was loaned to Real Madrid before signing for Leverkusen a
year late
