#AHAlbumReview: A review of the 'King Don Come' album by D'banj

Artiste: D’banj
Album: King Don Come
Tracks: 12
Features: Wande Coal, Harrysong, Gucci Mane Buci,  Busiswa, Kayswitch, Phyno
Producers: Dr Amir, P Loops, Cheeky Chizzy, Shizzi, Maleek Berry Killertunes and Don Jazzy.
D’banj finally released his much talked about album titled King Don Come which features some big collaborations from artiste across the globe. Without further ado here is what KDC sounds like.

The first song off this album is It’s Not A Lie ft. (Wande Coal x Harrysong) and was produced by Dr Amir & Cheeky Chizzy. Harrysong really came through on the chorus and his verse was also on point. As expected Wande doesn’t dull and he wasn’t about to but as for D’banj he was able to pull something off with his second verse. The rating of this song would be 8/10.

Be With You is the second single off this album that was released to promote the arrival of the album, it was produced by P Loops, Cheeky Chizzy & Shizzi and it is a decent effort that will take a 7/10 rating.

Te Necesico is the first song that really got my attention on this album D’banj delivered on a beautiful production from P Loops & Cheeky Chizzy as the rating 8/10.

El Chapo ft. Gucci Mane & Wande Coal is one of the best track of this album with a 9/10 rating and was produced by Maleek Berry, D’banj showed us he still have that magic touch on this song and Gucci Mane and Wande Coal also came through, though my opinion is that Wande could have been utilized better but like I said this is a solid song.

As I Dey Go is probably the best song off this album, D’banj really came through with his Afro sound melody and he killed it. The song produced by Cheeky Chizzy will have a 9/10

Turn Down For What (Focus) is a song that came out long before it was revealed that D’banj was working on an album. This is another Afro sound and D’banj brought his Fela cloning to stage here and the rating will be 8/10. The song was produced by Killertunes & Cheeky Cheezy.

Ekweji ft. Phyno is another Ckeeky Chizzy produced song and the only saving grace this song has is the harmonica that was played, aside from that the song didn’t really cut it, though I have to say Phyno too also tried his best but that wasn’t enough. A Masterkraft would have done a better job with the production of this song. The rating will be 4/10.

Now this is the D’banj I was looking forward to hear and I am glad I did, on the song That’s What I Mean ft. Kayswitch, D’banj reminded us why we loved him in the first place. The rating of this song produced by Dr Amir & Cheeky Chizzy is a perfect 10

I would say probably D’banj decided to put the best songs of this album towards the end of the album because Niswempu ft. Bucie & Busiswa is another dope track off this album as D’banj came out strong on this song, shout out to Bucie & Busiswa, they also played their part to make sure this P Loops & Cheeky Chizzy produced song was lit. This would be another 10/10 rating song.

The next two tracks are tracks that have proven their worth already by topping different charts across the country even across the continent, Emergency produced P Loops and Oliver Twist produced Don Jazzy also made their way into this album and both songs will carry a 9 and 10 rating respectively.

D’banj ended the album with another decent track with was assisted once again with his harmonica. Shoulda was produced by Cheeky Chizzy & Shizzi and will carry a 9/10.

Knowing D’banj's status in the music industry, it is understandable if this album doesn’t please a lot of people but in all fairness I would say he put in a decent effort the only mistake he did was probably waiting towards the end to serves us the best songs on the album, that isn’t a good tactics but like I said all in all the album wasn’t bad as the total rating will be 8.5/10.
