Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine Ritchson, welcomed a baby boy
named Amory Tristan on Sunday and
took to Instagram to announce the exciting news.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire actor posted a photo of himself holding
the little guy, writing, “Most of you
probably have no idea that I'm married and have two amazing little boys but
today, the strongest person I know, @catritchson gave birth to our newest
addition, Amory Tristan Ritchson. Say hello! He weighs in at a cool 7lbs 12ozs
and is only allowed to be a football player or a rapper. Love you Amory. Say hi
to a world in need of more joy, innocence and love, like you”.
His wife also posted her own message which was more elaborated and included
a photo of the three. “Ecstatic to
welcome Amory Tristan Ritchson to the world today! The name Amory means brave
& powerful. We chose his name to equip our third born to feel he could be
as much of a leader as if he were the first born. And at this intersection of
life we are inspired by a speech by President Roosevelt referred to as 'The Man
in the Arena' for all of our sons, but in particular, where this soul may carve
a path in life. 'It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out
how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them
better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face
is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who
comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and
shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great
enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at
the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the
worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place
shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor
defeat”.
