Cristiano Ronaldo Allays Injury Fears With Instagram Post

Cristiano Ronaldo has downplayed an injury sustained late in Real Madrid's win over Villarreal in La Liga. The Portugal forward caused a scare when he left Wednesday's game before the final whistle limping with an apparent muscle injury in his right leg.

He walked off the field by himself at the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of Real's 3-0 victory, leaving Madrid with 10 men and worrying fans. However, the three-time Ballon d'Or winner has posted on Instagram to reassure fans, saying: “All good. Thanks for your support”.

The club said on Wednesday that Ronaldo was expected to have medical tests as a precaution. Real Madrid's next game in the La Liga title race sees them travel to local rivals Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

Madrid are one point behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid with four matches left. The team is also in the Champions League semi-finals, where they face a two-legged affair with Manchester City
