Cast Update On Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit Riots Drama

Casting on Kathryn Bigelow‘s next feature, one primed to chronicle the Detroit Riots of ’67, has exploded into life, and we have news that two new additions have been added to the growing ensemble.

Nipping at the heels of Anthony Mackie’s addition to the cast, report has revealed that Jacob Latimore and Algee Smith have now boarded the project as it gears up to enter production in the coming weeks. With potent, real-life drama at its disposal coupled with the creative talent of Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal behind the lens, the filmmaker’s latest will be one to keep an eye on when it bows in theaters at some point in 2017.

We’ll be seeing Latimore, Smith and Mackie rub shoulders with John Boyega, not to mention the talented trio of Will Poulter, Ben O’Toole and Jack Reynor who enlisted for the Detroit pic earlier this week.
Thrusting moviegoers into the social uproar that sparked the historic Detroit Riots of 1967, Kathryn Bigelow‘s next creative venture is shaping up to be a cracker, and we’ll be keeping tabs on the real-life drama as it inches closer and closer to a production start and, eventually, a release in 2017.
