Dino Melaye escapes death as gunmen open fire on his car

Lawmaker representing Kogi west senatorial district at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye once again allegedly cheats death on Thursday as unknown gunmen suddenly opened fire on his car.

The Senator, who was said to be on his way to one of the venues of projects in his constituency which he arrived Kogi to commission when some gunmen prevented him from entering the town.

A source noted that Senator Melaye met road block with heavy truck shortly before Isanlu as the gunmen also set up burn fire with tyres blocking any one moving into the town. 

The Senator having noticed the antics of the gunmen turned back to his home town-Ayetoro-gbede with his entourage.

The source said that, “Some men in police uniform from Lokoja ambushed Senator Dino Melaye in Ayetoro as the whereabouts of the senator is yet unknown.”

It was gathered that some thugs has threatened the lawmaker earlier on Tuesday to kill him should he step his foot in Kogi State.

However, making good their threats, some of the projects located in Lokoja which were supposed to be commissioned by the senator were razed by thugs.
