James Horner Convinced Antoine Fuqua to Make The Magnificent Seven

 
Before composer James Horner tragically passed away last summer, he was working on a gift for filmmaker Antoine Fuqua. Last year, Fuqua and Horner collaborated on the boxing drama, Southpaw, and the two had discussed reuniting for the upcoming remake of The Magnificent Seven. Without seeing any footage Horner went ahead and starting composing music for the film, much to Fuqua’s surprise. The composer’s generosity didn’t stop there, either, as he paid to put the score together himself and, according to Fuqua, he was the one that convinced him he had to make The Magnificent Seven.

After Seth Grahame-Smith announced that he’d be departing The Flash, we’re now hearing that another director may be looking to make an exit. Reports have it that James Wan is feeling a tremendous amount of trepidation about Aquaman. According to them, “Aquaman needs Wan,” but the director isn’t sure if “he needs that hassle.” Of course, no decisions have been made just yet, and as of now he still remains attached to helm the film. Whether he’ll end up staying on board though is unclear.
