Kevin Feige And Doctor Strange Director In on Whitewashing Controversy

 
Ever since the first trailer for Doctor Strange debuted, controversy about whitewashing in Hollywood has been swirling online again. This came about because it was confirmed that actress Tilda Swinton was playing the role of The Ancient One, a character who was originally an Asian man in the comic books. Many Asian actors, actresses, filmmakers and fans have spoken out against this casting, saying that it plays into the tendency Hollywood has to have white actors and actresses in the roles of characters of different ethnic backgrounds. Tilda Swinton previously responded to the matter, and now Marvel Studios president CEO and Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson have chimed in on the matter.

Vida takes Alicia’s plate and eats her food, following Connor out onto the dock and locking Alicia in. Alicia rushes through the boat; all the doors appear to be locked. She finally finds a way out, and ends up on the dock. It looks like she is on a commercial fishing boat – and they are in dry dock. Jack finds her and takes her back downstairs. He is mad and knows Connor would be mad. Alicia wants to see Travis and find out where they left her family. He promises to find out, and she promises she trusts him.

Davos stares in shock at the sight of the living, breathing Jon Snow. He wraps Jon in his cloak and helps him sit up. The last thing Jon remembers is Olly plunging a knife through his heart. Melisandre hovers, and asks where he went, what he saw after he died. “Nothing. Nothing at all.” This is not the answer Melisandre was looking for. Still, she believes “the lord let you come back for a reason.” Stannis was not the prince as promised, but someone has to be. Melisandre leaves the menfolk to talk. Davos thinks it is “f*cking mad” that Jon came back to life. Jon is searching for a greater meaning to his returning to life. He failed the first time around. Fully dressed, Jon goes out to greet those who remain at Castle Black – which are mostly wildlings. Tormund tells him they think he is some sort of god, which Jon dismisses. “I know, I saw your pecker. What kind of god would have a pecker that small?” He has a similarly warm “welcome back” greeting from Edd. Gilly is excited about their ocean adventure; Samwell is mostly sick. He warns her that the citadel doesn’t allow women, and there is no Jon Snow to bend the rules. He wants her to stay with his family, promising his mom and sister will take good care of her. Gilly protests at first, but then concedes.

West Ham Bid £24m For Top Striker- Co-Owner David Sullivan


West Ham have made a £24m bid for a top forward in France and will bid £25m for another in England this week if they are unsuccessful, co-owner David Sullivan has confirmed. Michel Platini Ban From Football Is Reduced To Four Years


Michel Platini is to stand down as UEFA president after his six-year ban from football was reduced to four years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) . Platini was initially banned for eight years by a FIFA disciplinary committee over a £1.3m payment given to him by then-FIFA president Sepp Blatter in 2011. 

The pair claimed the money was for work Platini did for Blatter between 1998-2002. His eight-year ban was cut to six by the FIFA appeals committee. Platini had hoped to be cleared of all charges but the three-man CAS panel in Lausanne backed FIFA's judgement that the payment was unfair and a conflict of interests.

Promoter Eddie Hearn will press on with plans for Kell Brook's next title defence and says the last thing Amir Khan needs is a fight against the IBF welterweight champion. Khan has indicated he will step down in weight after his ambitious attempt to win the WBC middleweight title ended in a crushing knockout defeat to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez on Saturday night.

The Dark Tower Adds Actress Claudia Kim


South Korean actress Claudia Kim has now landed a role in the big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. According to The Tracking Board, Kim will be playing a character named Arra Champignon who never actually appeared in any of the source novels but was a relatively minor player in two of the Marvel tie-in comics: “Treachery” and “The Sorcerer.”
