X-Men: Apocalypse Is The #1 Movie In The World

 
The Angry Birds Movie has performed a little better than expected this weekend after debuting in North America and knocking Captain America: Civil War from the top of the domestic box office, but after opening in 71 overseas locations, it’s actually X-Men: Apocalypse which is the #1 movie in the world a week before it reaches the US.

Manchester United and Liverpool have been fined by UEFA for illicit chants in their Europa League matches in March. Both clubs have received £30,500 fines - half of which is suspended for two years - for the chants and have been given separate fines for a number of other offences.

Raphael Varane to miss Euro 2016

 
France defender Raphael Varane has been ruled out of Euro 2016 with a thigh injury. The 23-year-old suffered the injury in training with Real Madrid and will be replaced in the squad by Sevilla's Adil Rami.
The French Football Federation (FFF) said in a statement that scans had confirmed the initial diagnosis of Real Madrid team doctors, who estimated the player would be out of action for up to three weeks.

Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal are safely through to the second round of the French Open after comfortable opening victories. World No 1 Djokovic is still searching for his first French Open title and swiftly sealed a 6-4 6-1 6-1 victory over Yen-Hsun Lu in just an hour and a half at Roland Garros.
Djokovic is attempting to become the first man to hold all four grand slam titles at the same time since Rod Laver achieved the feat in 1969 The only blemish in a polished performance came when he dropped serve in the eighth game of the opening set, but last year's beaten finalist quickly levelled at 4-4 and Lu would only win two more games.
