#AHMusicReview: Davido, Tiwa Savage and more on this week's music review

The year keeps getting better for Davido and Tiwa Savage as both artistes just got nominated for BET Best International Act award and they will also have the chance to share the same stage with the likes of DJ Khalid who has six nominations This is the first time ever that the Best international Act awards will be presented live on stage (instead of backstage presentation). Many have said Wizkzd should be given some sort of accolades for this because the singer turned down the award last year.

Okay now that we have gotten that gist out of the way, let's get down to business, these are the songs we are reviewing this week;

1.      Kahli Abdu ft. Ycee -Watching You (Caroline): After a very long time away from the music scene pop singer Kahli Abdu makes a beautiful return with the song titled Watching You (Caroline) and on this one he features Ycee who by the way is set to drop his debut album. On this track Ycee shows us he is as good as a singer as he is as a rapper, all in all this is nice song you will enjoy. The rating will be 7/10.

2.      Ben Pol ft. Kiss Daniel – Zai: Kenyan soul singer Ben Pol drops an unexpected song and on this one he features Nigeria singer Kiss Daniel who is currently on collaborations spree and I have to say once again the Flyboi Inc boss came through on this one. This is a decent song coming from Ben Poi as the rating for Zai will be 8/10.

3.      Babes Wodumo - Ka Dazz: One of my favourite South African singers is back with another classic song titled Ka Dazz and she brought back the original Babes Wodumo sound that we have come to love. Trust me without any doubt this is a song that will go far around the continent as the rating will be 8/10.

4.      Dammy Krane - Shayo: Whether we like it or not Dammy Krane must become a household name again as the World Star singer isn’t relenting in his effort of making sure he wins back his fan. Yes I have always been a fan of consistency and Dammy is dong a wonderful job staying consistence but then again I think he still need to go  back to his original and real bring (the ko le re body fire). Shayo isn’t a bad effort as the rating will be 6/10.

5.      DJ Big N ft. Don Jazzy x Kiss Daniel - My Dear: Mavin in house disk jockey DJ Big N is back with another hit and on this one features his boss Don Jazzy and Kiss Daniel and together they gave us a decent 8/10 highlife rating song.

6.      Skuki -Slow Down: The brothers are back and with something very different from what we are used too. On Slow Down we hear the Pass The Agbera singers go all soft as they sing in a more melodious tune which is very different from their usual style of high tempo sounds but then again you have to give it to them they really came through as the rating will be 7/10.

7.      Davido - African Girl: BET Best International Act nominee Davido is back with another potential hit song titled African Girl and this song was produced by Young John. I called this a potential hit song because the production is dope as expected but Davido's flow wasn’t as catchy as his previous singles but then again it's Davido, once the video drops, the song will go viral. The rating will be 7/10.

8.      Tiwa Savage - Laba Laba: Another BET Best International Act nominee from Nigeria Tiwa Savage is back with another song less than a week after dropping Tiwa's Vibes. Laba Laba as produced by Altims will be Tiwa Savage's third official single this year and I have to say this is probably the best of them all, as she once again showed us why she is the most sought after female artiste on the land. Super production coming from Altims as the rating will be a 9/10.

9.      Pablow ft. Mr Real x Danny S - Bureau De Change: Fast raising 18 years old singer Pablow who is signed to Madeline Entertainment just dropped what will go down as one of the best street song for the year. This has to be the best shaku shakau sound I have heard this year, credits to Shocker for the production of this brain bursting jam. This is one song that will rock the street for a long time to come as the rating will be 9/10.

10.  King Promise ft. Sarkodie x Mugeez (R2bees) - CCTV: As produced by Killbeatz this is an all Ghana affair as King Promise features two of Ghana's finest artistes Sarkodie x Mugeez of R2bees. CCTV is an inspirational song with a very decent production and the rating will be 8/10.

11.  Terry Tha Rapman ft Paul Play Dairo - Boys Are Not Smiling: Terry Tha Rapman is not smiling at all, this is one fire hip hop joint right here and really was that Paul Play Dairo on the chorus?, mehn the veteran took the song to another level. Listening to songs like this you just have to agree with me that Terry is very much underrated and unappreciated, this is one artiste that has kept rap alive for years and he is still going strong.  Without any doubt Boys Are Not Smiling which was produced by 2JO will have 9/10 rating.

12.  Prince Brizzy - Malo: Real name Prince Adetuwo Adekunle Ayodeji aka Prince Brizzy is an upcoming artiste who is a graduate of Olabisi Onbanjo University, he is here with his first official singled titled Malo. The R&B/Pop singer who looked up to the likes of Usher Raymond (his mentor) Chris Brown and late Michael Jackson, did a very wonderful job on this song, as he shows not only his singing talent but also his writing ability. Malo talks about heartbreak and Prince Brizzy did an excellent job in making sure we are able to relate with the song with his lyrics, the rating of this song will be a 7/10.

13.  Ceeza Milli – Yapa: As produced by Kel P, Ceeza Milli who has a very identical voice with Wizkid is back with his own single titled Yapa and I have to say he nailed it. If you listen carefully you can tell this song contains sample element from  Ja Rule and Ashanti's song Always On Time but that is not to take anything away from the song as it contain its own original element and like I said Ceeza Milli did a very good job on the song as the rating will be 8/10.

14.  DJ Jimmy Jatt ft Mr. Eazi x Skales - Halima: Legendary cool DJ Jimmy Jatt is back and on this wonderful track called Halima he features Mr. Eazi x Skales and both artistes did proper justice to the song. Aside from the beautiful vocals of Mr. Eazi and Skales who also surprised us with his Hausa flow, the production of this song is also something worth mentioning. All in all this is a decent song with a rating of 8/10.

15.  Niniola ft. Busiswa -Magun (Remix): Niniola join forces with South African singer Busiswa for the remix of one of the songs off her This Is Me album which was released last year. Magun (Remix) isn’t a bad effort coming from these two singers as Sarz once again came through on the production of the song. The rating will be 7/10.

16.  D’Tunes ft Mayorkun x Hyperdandy - Dede: Music producer D’Tunes is here with another single and on this highlife song titled Dede, he features Mayorkun x Hyperdandy who both came through on the song which had a very good production. The rating will be 7/10.
