The CW is all but set to stage a Kryptonian reunion with Supergirl season 2, now that Variety has confirmed the Man of Steel himself will partner up with Melissa Benoist’s title heroine later this year.
It’s a family reunion that has been teased many times by the creative talent involved in the DC Comics series, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that while Clark Kent will definitely pay a visit to his younger cousin in National City, for now it’s still unclear who will don the red cape as Superman. One thing’s for certain, though: it won’t be Henry Cavill.

Thor: Ragnarok Shooting Commences On July 4th

 
There are a lot of great comic book movies coming out in 2017, but despite how exciting the likes of Justice League and Spider-Man: Homecoming are, seeing Planet Hulk adapted in Thor: Ragnarok promises to be the year’s real highlight. Plot details are predictably scarce but having Thor teaming up with, and possibly fighting, The Hulk should be pretty epic, especially as the Asgardian hero will also need to fend off the villainous Hela.

Girlboss Snags Britt Robertson For Lead Role

 
Girlboss, the latest original series setting up shop at Netflix, has zeroed in on its leading lady: Tomorrowland star Britt Robertson. Hatched by Pitch Perfect scribe Kay Cannon, the 13-episode comedy takes cues from Sophia Amoruso’s popular memoir of the same name. Cannon is attached to produce the series alongside Charlize Theron, Laverne McKinnon, Christian Ditter and Amoruso herself. Ditter will serve as director on Girlboss.

Steven Spielberg’s casting spree for Ready Player One continues unabated today, with news emerging that Japanese singer-cum-actor Win Morisaki has inked a deal to join the long-in-development adaptation. Francesco Totti Given One Year Contract Extension

 
Roma captain Francesco Totti has signed a new one-year contract to play a 25th season with the Serie A side, the club announced on Tuesday.  Totti, who turns 40 in September, began his Serie A career with Roma in 1993, playing 601 matches for the club only surpassed in the Italian top flight by Paolo Maldini's 647 with AC Milan and Javier Zanetti's 615 for Inter Milan.

Ronald Koeman Agree Everton Deal

 
Everton and Southampton have agreed a compensation deal for manager Ronald Koeman. Everton are yet to confirm that the deal to take Koeman to Goodison Park has been completed, but an announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.

Two of Koeman's backroom staff at Southampton are anticipated to make the move with the former Feyenoord manager. There were also reports that Southampton were trying to insert a clause into the deal that would see Everton unable to go for any of the Saints' players were Koeman to take over at Goodison, but it is understood that has never been part of the negotiations. 

Sources reported over the weekend the Dutchman had emerged as the club's main target to replace  Roberto Martinez following his dismissal at the end of the season. Koeman's agent Rob Jansen met with new Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri to hammer a out a compensation deal - thought to be in the region of £5m.

 


Chris Smalling's Knee Injury Not Serious

 
The Football Association have confirmed Chris Smalling's knee injury is not serious and he is expected to train on Wednesday. Pictures emerged on Tuesday night of the England defender returning from training with a strapping around his left knee.  Smalling had been taking part in England's second training session of the day, having earlier trained in front of the assembled media as well as Chantilly schoolchildren and dignitaries.

Jose Mourinho Settles With Eva Carneiro

 
Chelsea and Jose Mourinho have reached a settlement with former team doctor Eva Carneiro over claims she was constructively dismissed by the club and discriminated against by its former manager.
Manchester United manager Mourinho arrived at the tribunal in Croydon just after 1pm on Tuesday, along with Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck. Their arrival delayed the start of day two, during which Carneiro was due to begin giving evidence, but after last-minute talks between the parties, a settlement was agreed shortly before 3.30pm.
