‘Mortal Kombat 3’ Is Still Kicking Around

 
It’s been years since New Line Cinema announced that they were developing another Mortal Kombat movie. Director Kevin Tancharoen was set behind the camera after helming the web series Mortal Kombat Legacy, but he left the project two years later. The last update we got on the project came last year when James Wan was brought on board as producer, and no more has been heard about the project since then but that has change.

Production For Spike Gets Underway

From one medium to another, Spike’s serialized take on The Mist a gripping Stephen King novella stands as one of the most intriguing properities on the network’s slate, and The Hollywood Reporter brings word of a final casting spree before production officially gets underway over the summer.

Kathy Bates Joins Disjointed

 
Chuck Lorre is teaming up with Kathy Bates for the Netflix comedy series Disjointed. Disjointed will star Bates as a marijuana advocate who becomes the owner of a Los Angeles cannabis dispensary. The half-hour show will use a multi-camera format, thus setting it apart from other pot-based shows like Weeds.

As you can see from the image below, it appears as if the Black Racer will be making an appearance in the premiere, and while it’s possible that he’ll only make the one appearance, the series using another speedster as a season long villain makes sense.

Colin Farrell In For 'The Beguiled' remake

Casting is once again beginning to heat up on the set of Garth Davis’ Mary Magdalene biopic, with reports saying that Chiwetel Ejiofor, has opened talks to nab the role of Peter the Apostle. A fisherman and key member of Jesus’ band of disciples, Peter famously denied Christ three times during his arrest and subsequent crucifixion. Soon thereafter, it’s believed that Peter was himself crucified at the hands of Emperor Nero Augustus Caesar, requesting for his cross to be turned upside down because he no longer considered himself worthy to be associated with Jesus Christ.
